Hello Harry! Online Concert Is A Huge Success

The Shaftesbury Theatre’s celebration of legendary Stage Door Keeper Harry Gabriel streamed on the 15th July with the help of Official London Theatre. The concert was a huge success, with thousands of viewers watching live and donating over £2000 on the night itself.

The fundraising campaign remains open to donations until the 29th July. The concert itself will remain online for everyone to watch.

On the day of the 15th, the Shaftesbury Theatre was featured on Good Morning Britain with showbusiness presenter Richard Arnold broadcasting live from the empty auditorium. Richard called the Shaftesbury ‘the jewel in the crown of London’s glittering West End’, and talked about the changes that are being made in the building as part of our ongoing Dramatic Transformation project. Many of these changes will ensure we are able to reopen safely when theatres are permitted to welcome audiences again.

We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to this amazing concert, including the performers, band and choir members, and the wonderful fans of Harry who sent us pictures and stories. We couldn’t have done it without you.
