For fans of our beloved musical comedy, fear not! Gabriel Vick (Avenue Q) and Laura Tebbutt (School of Rock) will return as Daniel and Miranda Hillard for the second year of Mrs. Doubtfire in the West End.
“He’s astonishing in a part that demands full throttle singing and dancing, lightning-quick costume changes, challenging physical comedy, vocal impersonations of everyone from Kermit the Frog to Boris Johnson, puppetry, and genuine, heartfelt emotion.” – What’s on Stage, On Gabriel Vick’s performance as Daniel Hillard/Mrs.Doubtfire.
“There’s a moment in the second half where the musical authentically improves on the film; the superior ballad “Let Go” for Miranda, Daniel’s ex-wife as she chronicles the breakdown of their relationship, is not just the best song in the show, but it fleshes out the character in a way that Sally Field was never afforded in the movie. Laura Tebbutt delivers it stunningly, with powerhouse vocals and honest emoting that never feels self-indulgent.” – What’s On Stage, On Laura Tebbutt’s performance as Miranda Hillard.
Carla Dixon-Hernandez will pass the role of Lydia Hillard to the talented Charlotte Fleming, who joins Thommy Bailey Vine as Christopher Hillard alongside the existing cast members portraying the Hillard children Herbie Byers, Parker Newman, Rachelle Bonfield-Bell, Ellemie Shivers, and Felicity Walton. Matthew Goodgame (Chicago) is also joining the cast on May 14th as the dreamboat Stuart Dunmire and Ross Dawes (The Time Traveller’s Wife) as good old Mr. Jolly.
New additions to the ensemble include Michael Afemare, Autumn Draper, Ryan Lay, Perry O’Dea, and Bleu Woodward. We’re also excited to welcome new swings, Alex Bowen, Christina Hoey, Peter Houston and, Jodie Knight.
