We’re a historic Grade II listed Edwardian building nestled in the heart of London’s bustling West End. Located on the iconic Shaftesbury Avenue, just five minutes walk from Soho and Covent Garden, the Theatre is world-renowned as a cornerstone of the West End’s history. But apart from putting on amazing theatrical productions, we also offer a unique experience with our private events hire.

We have two bar spaces available to rent at The Shaftesbury, both staffed by our outstanding hospitality team to provide a high level of service at any event. Our bars are fully stocked with our West End menu, including cocktails themed to our show Mrs Doubtfire, and we can cater to any specific requests.
We offer a variety of catering packages for both of our spaces, including breakfast meetings, canape receptions, and private lunches, as well as always having the flexibility to design you your own menu.

A tribute to the legendary theatre architect who originally designed The Shaftesbury, The Bertie Crewe is a sophisticated bar space featuring the architectural quirks of the room’s original design. Newly opened in July 2023, The Bertie Crewe’s charming interior provides the perfect setting for an elegant drinks reception or important meeting.
Seating areas in The Bertie Crewe are fully configurable, with the scope to add more tables and chairs as required. Standing, the room holds forty guests, and in seated configurations holds around twenty, making it the perfect size for small and intimate gatherings. Its elegant ambiance and thoughtful design create an inviting atmosphere, perfect for fostering creativity and meaningful conversations.
Named after the year construction was completed on the Shaftesbury, The 1911 is our largest bar space and can accommodate up to 150 people standing; making it a perfect choice for larger drinks receptions. Finished in October 2022, the sleek design makes the bar an impressive choice for any function when looking for architecturally unique spaces.
In seated configurations, The 1911 can seat 70 people theatre style, and around 60 in grouped seating. A versatile option for talks, corporate offsites, workshops and private presentations, The 1911 is also fully accessible from street level. The rental comes with men’s and women’s private bathrooms, as well as an accessible bathroom.
